Monster High[]
Trivia[]
- Trixie Mattel's surname and aesthetic are inspired by Barbie, which was created by Mattel, who also created Monster High. Her role as Skelly Vonderbone is her first official collaboration with the company.
- Trixie Mattel is a known fan of Lisa Vanderpump, who may be the name inspiration for Skelly Vonderbone.
- According to an early leak of the premise of "Flaunt Your Skeleton", Skelly's name was originally going to be Debbie Scary. This name is still used in Amazon Prime's description of the episode.[1] Debbie Scary is a pun on Debbie Harry, the lead vocalist of the band Blondie, whom Trixie is also a fan of.[2] Incidentally, in the fourth episode of Season 7 of RuPaul's Drag Race (Trixie's debut season), she lip sync battled against another contestant to the Blondie song "Dreaming" and lost, marking her first (though temporary) elimination.
- Skelly's design appears inspired by Trixie's own drag style, particularly her extensive use of the color pink and tall, wavy-haired wigs.
- When "Flaunt Your Skeleton" aired, Trixie chose not to promote her involvement in the episode to avoid bringing negative attention to the series, as drag performers and transgender people were under intense ongoing political aggression at the time.[3]
- Trixie is a longtime vegetarian, an atheist, and a fan of Barbie Dolls.
