Personality[]
Toralei Stripe is monster high’s “bad girl” werecat, who’s so not afraid to let her claws come out. She's rude, ungrateful, and unfriendly.
She’s clever and an ambitious schemer who enjoys causing trouble for others, particularly if it benefits her or puts her in a position of power. Toralei is highly competitive and isn't afraid to use underhanded tactics to achieve her goals, such as blackmail or exposing secrets. For example: she blackmailed Lagoona into doing what she says or else she would expose Lagoona's rubber piranha Señor Squeaky to everyone and blackmailed Draculaura into dropping out of the head fearleader election or else she'd expose her as a witch. But Draculaura managed to save her and Lagoona's secrets. This shows that Toralei is determined to do whatever it takes to win.
Toralei is brave and wants to keep monster society the way it is, believing she’s a modern hero standing up for what’s proper and good. With a strong dislike for humans and change, she doesn’t trust Clawdeen or Draculaura's witchiness. It's no surprise that her goal is to get Clawdeen and Draculaura kicked out of Monster High, even if she has to frame them to do it. No matter what Clawdeen does to try and appease Toralei, it's no use — the beef between their two families goes way back, like centuries back (even in the monster world, cats and dogs don't get along).
Due to being mean to other students, Toralei doesn’t have any friends. In the episodes "Creepover Party" and "Earworm," she is shown sitting alone at lunch. It wasn't until her cousins Purrsephone and Meowlody came along that she finally got someone to be around. However, she took them for granted on their first day, taking all of the credit. She later apologized to them, promising to treat them better. This shows that she cares about her cousins, who she considers her friends. The two make up her crew and the trio wear coordinating outfits (picked out by Toralei, of course). This also marks the beginning of Toralei's character growth.
Deep down, Toralei isn't actually a bad person, but more like someone who desperately craves love and attention, but resulted in negative ways such as bullying and blackmailing. However, after spending time with Clawdeen and the rest of the Boo-Crew, Toralei is slowly improving herself to become a better monster.
Abilities[]
As a werecat, Toralei possesses the abilities of a normal feline.
- Feline Instincts: Toralei is occasionally compelled with catlike instincts, that is or is not an actual ability, that includes releasing and extending her claws.
- Athleticism: Toralei is very athletic and always land on her feet.
- Agility: As a werecat, Toralei has an increased agility and flexibility being swift and fast and always landing on her feet, which comes in handy when you're a cheerleader.
- Full Moon Transformation: As she has come of age, Toralei should be able to take on her human form under full-moon light. But as shown in "Moonlit Fieldtrip", she does not have this ability yet for unknown reasons.
- Enhanced strength: Like all werecats, Toralei possesses super strength.
- Enhanced speed: Like all werecats, Toralei can run at high speeds.
Skillset[]
- Music: Toralei is passionate about music; She is a talented singer, pianist, guitarist, and tambourine player. She is the lead in her band The Hissfits.
- Dancing: Toralei is a good dancer, especially as a fear leader.
Relationships[]
Family[]
Toralei's mother, Catarina Stripe, was mentioned in "Part of the Pack". Her mother is now the former wereleader of the werebeasts and it is implied that, before she assumed the title of wereleader, Catarina and Toralei were closer. After becoming leader of the werebeasts, however, Catarina and her daughter have become far more distant and though flashbacks show them occasionally going out to a cafe, Catarina's neglectful attitude is shown when she proritizes her own needs as wereleader over the welfare of Toralei, who she once reprehends on an outing for getting a D-. Ultimately, Toralei turns on her mother and helps stop her, but after Catarina is stripped of her stolen Talismen power, Toralei nonetheless goes to help her, returning the werebeast talismen to Clawdeen beforehand.
She and her cousins (Purrsephone and Meowlody) are a part of The Hissfits. On nights in, Toralei likes to create songs for the band in her journal.
Toralei currently lives with Clawdeen, Clawd, Apollo and Selena Wolf.

This was put to an end after Draculaura casted a spell that prevents Toralei from spreading Lagoona's secret. Since then Lagoona set a “healthy boundary” on their relationship. At the end of the first season, Toralei becomes a member of the Boo Crew and helps them defeat her mother.
