"The Deuce Date" is the sixty-second and the seventeenth episode of the second season of Monster High. And premiered on October 3, 2024, on Nickelodeon.
Premise[]
Convinced that Deuce is lonely, Lagoona and Heath set him up for an ultra-romantic Heartbeast Night to lift his spirits.
Plot[]
This episode begins with Heath burns bursting out of Abbey Bomninable's locker with flowers and wishes her a happy heart beast night. Abbey doesn't know what this is as Yetis don't celebrate it.
Heath then sings a song to her describing the holiday. Essentially every couple, when they find a date and connection they like, gets a phantom heart.
During this sequence we see several monsters getting their hearts. Twyla and Manny taur exchange books and get their hearts, Frankie and Cleo get theirs after they take a selfie and Frankie electrifies them. Barkimedes gets a letter dropped off by Mortimer the dragon from an unknown sender. Finnegan and Spectra get theirs. Iris also gets one, however we see later this is probably from Goobert. Draculaura and Clawd bump into each other and get theirs, and finally Heath and Abbey get theirs and make plans to spend time together.
We then see Gil and Lagoona with their hearts and they plan to spend the night together, however as the president and vice president of the heart beast night committee, Lagoona and Heath must fulfill their duties first.
They pass out cookies in the creepateria where they hear sad music. They follow the tune and end up in Mortimer's lair.
They see Deuce who is listening to the music with his pajamas and and a box of tissues. He says to them that he is vibing. Lagoona and Heath hide and come to the conclusion that Deuce is lonely as he has all the staples of a lonely heart and they decide they need to fix this.
Neglecting their dates with their partners, they try to get Deuce a date by inviting him to dinner and hoping he will invite a date while they hide. He instead just eats it with his snakes.
They then invite him to a private movie screening and tell him to bring anyone he likes. He brings all of his friends instead of the expected date.
They try and get him to bring a hiking partner for a walk he is taking. He says he knows just who to bring. He brings Watzie.
After this they get into an argument about what to do next and come to Deuce, questioning him. He says that he's not really into romance and he loves his friends, his snakes and himself, which makes him get his heart. He explains the heartbreak signs as Toralei giving him a preview of the Hissfit's new song, the pajamas as him getting up late and the tissues being for Mortimer because he is allergic to glitter.
Then he reminds Lagoona and Heath about their dates. He prepares a romantic night for the couples and brings some cookies to Mortimer.

- Internationally and overall, this episode was first released in Europe; first in Italy on July 27, 2024, and later in France on August 22, 2024.
- Toralei's song "Hold On" is heard again, this time as instrumental only. It's revealed that the song has become an upcoming Hissfits song.
