The Skull Shores line revolves, like the Gloom Beach line, around Spring Break. Except this time, it's on an island. This marks the first release of a Gil doll, and also includes Draculaura, Abbey Bominable, Ghoulia Yelps, Lagoona Blue, and a grey scale Frankie Stein. Each doll, comes with an accessory and a map.

Gil, Lagoona, Abbey and Ghoulia were released first, their USA shelf date being November 3, 2011, and Draculaura was released in late January 2012. The Frankie Stein doll was held until April 1, 2012, to roughly coincide with the release of the second 2012 TV special, "Escape From Skull Shores".

Some managed to lay their hands on the Frankie doll earlier due to a mistake by Mattel. The doll appeared on the retailer page by accident for a few hours in December 2011 and those who ordered got their shipments.

Early July 2012 there will be a 5-pack Skull shores exclusive to Target, including a full color Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf and Cleo de Nile.

Notes

  • The trademark filed for Skull Shores includes the words "doll playsets", leaving it a possibility that a playset of Skull Shores will also be released in the line.
  • There are two different versions of what the Skull Shores doll stands and brushes are supposed to be like. In the early versions, Lagoona's is pink, Ghoulia's is light green, Gil's stand is orange, and Abbey's is blue. In later verisons of the dolls, all the stands are light green (not including Frankie's).
  • The Black & White Frankie doll is sold in the UK exclusively by Tesco.
  • The 5-pack version of Draculaura and Ghoulia are not the same as their individual package. Draculaura has a pink stripe around her little sailor cap,her eye make up more dark, her bangs are more pointy and been hair sprayed and her whole vampire fangs appear.Ghoulia's hair is more curley and her sun glasses are darker green.
