The Picture Day doll line is the fifth subline of the franchise-spanning 'Signature' line of dolls that features the characters in day-to-day, fit-for-school outfits. It is the first themed 'Signature' subline and revolves, as the name reveals, around Picture Day. It was released in two waves from Late 2012 to Early 2013. Included in the line are Draculaura, Abbey Bominable, Spectra Vondergeist, and Cleo de Nile, whom were released in Early November of 2012, and Lagoona Blue, Frankie Stein, and Operetta, whom were released in Mid April of 2013.
Picture Day is the name of the line as it appears on the box. It is the only 'Signature' subline with a name at all, unlike its predecessors, that isn't trademarked either, unlike its successors.
Picture Day is the first iteration of one of the three post-'Between Classes' splits in the 'Signature' series. Specifically, it is the split that retains the N2851 assortment number, though the nature of the N2851 assortment gets drastically changed with Picture Day. No longer are the 'Signature' sublines unnamed or the primary line through which new characters are introduced. On the contrary, since Picture Day it is rare for a character to receive their doll debut as a 'Signature' doll. Other changes include the lack of pets and diary-type booklets.
All but one Picture Day accessory are unique to the Picture Day line.

Each doll comes with a sticker sheet and a fearbook. Shortened and updated versions of the characters' profiles are printed on the back of the boxes.
Picture Day has been featured in the Volume 3 webisode "Franken-Styled", in which Frankie, Draculaura, Cleo, and Abbey prepare for Picture Day together. (Clawdeen and Ghoulia are also present, but the former wears an unidentified outfit and the latter her Scooter outfit.) All seven outfits have also appeared in the TV specials "13 Wishes" and "Frights, Camera, Action!", in which they are presented loose from a Picture Day setting. Cleo and Frankie are also seen wearing their outfits in the Volume 4 webisode "Boogey-Mansion".
- The second wave of Picture Day dolls were available in Australia a few weeks prior to the US-American release, but they were very rare. The same was also the case for the Ghoul's Night Out dolls, but their USAmerican release came even later.
- Due to a manufacturing error, Operetta's mask did not fit the doll. Mattel solved this in the initial shipments by including a black version of her Dot Dead Gorgeous mask, while the company worked on fixing the mask issue for later shipments. Operetta's doll first hit stores in Mid April, with the correct mask technically arriving in Early October but not being properly available until Late October.
