Operetta is a 2017-introduced and cartoon-only character. She is a phantom and a student at Monster High. As a result of the Fright Flight, she spent much of her life hidden away in a cave system where she spent her time playing the banjo. It earned her the title Phantom of the Caverns. It suited Operetta, a generally good-natured person, just fine, as did the move to Monster High when the Ghoul Squad picked her up.

Portrayers[]

In the English version of the cartoon, Operetta's voice is provided by Cindy Robinson. She is one of the few voice actors who made the jump from Generation 1 to Generation 2.

Character[]

Background[]

While in hiding from humans, Operetta made her home in a cave system housing the lost treasure, a huge collection of diamonds, of an ancient civilization. It was peaceful for a while, but one day she heard humans entering the caves. Knowing they'd find the diamonds and comb the whole system for them, Operetta played a little tune to scare them off, thereby becoming known as the Phantom of the Caverns. Then it was peaceful again until the Ghoul Squad came looking for her and brought along Toralei Stripe, who stole the one diamond with an active security system on it. The cave system subsequently collapsed, leaving Operetta little choice in accepting the invitation to join Monster High. [Source]

Personality[]

Appearance[]

Operetta has medium purple skin contrasted by bright red and black hair. The color arrangement is highlighted by a matching tattoo of spider webs and musical notes that follow her left arm's length. She has grey-purple eyes, of which the one on the left almost always is covered and/or framed by a mask. Her fashion sense is inspired by the 1950s and 1960s. Music is another influence, and she also likes to accessorize with web and dice imagery. The latter combines with her love for the colors white and black in her clothes, which lend themselves well for dice in addition to such things as keyboards and vinyl records. Other recurring colors are dark purple and red.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Operetta is the daughter of the Phantom of the Opera.
