Nightmare debuted in the cartoon series in the Volume 1 webisode "Totally Busted", which premiered on July 30, 2010. She is voiced by Audu Paden in the English version of the cartoon.

Bloodgood agrees that neither candidate is the kind she wants to hand the Creature of the Year award. Readying herself to start her selection anew with Nightmare's help, Frankie suggests awarding her steadfast assistant. And so, Bloodgood announces Nightmare as the Creature of the Year during the ceremony, much to the chagrin of Rotter and Hackington. Everyone else cheers and Nightmare proudly leaves the stage, though not before happily snorting some flames towards the two disqualified teachers. [Source]

Archer at first responds oblivious to the confrontation, but his countenance quickly changes into one of delight. He jumps past the girls to the window, where he has spotted the girl of his dreams: Nightmare. She responds equally positive to him. From their spot in the creepateria, Toralei and Operetta decide Archer wasn't their type after all and leave. [Source]

Nightmare is being walked through the halls by the Headmistress when they happen to eavesdrop on Mr. Where's dress rehearsal for his play to honor Monster High's Bite-Centennial. Upon hearing Cleo's rendition of her, Bloodgood voices how impressed she is with Cleo's portrayal to Nightmare, who lets off a snort of agreement before they presumably continue to watch the rehearsal before leaving moments before it falls apart due to Frankie's freaky fused friends and classmates. At the Board of Deaduction officer, Grunderson shows the Skullastic Superintendents the Freak du Chic posters, demanding for such activity to be canceled due to lack of authorization. However, Headless Headmistress Bloodgood and Nightmare storm in the room and demands the show to be authorized, to wich the Skullastic Superintendents decide that, if the show isn't ready that night, the arts program will then be closed.
