Name[]
The name Monster Ball is printed on the package.
Fiction[]
This doll line was promoted through episodes of the TV series, as well as having its own a webseries. The episodes of the TV series are a mini-arc that conclude the first season, with "Monster Match" following the students doing elaborate prom proposals as the dance approaches and "The Monster Way" following the Boo Crew having to save the monster world and free Clawdeen's mom Selena before the celebrations. The Monster Ball Homecoming webseries is the third volume of the G3 webseries and follows the students trying to solve the mystery of the Formal Phantom, an urban legend who is haunting the dance and abducting people.
Although it can be assumed that the webisodes takes place shortly after the Boo Crew free Selena from Beheme, there are a few continuity issues the webseries causes. A minor one is referring to the dance as the "Monster Ball Homecoming" instead of just the "Monster Ball", but major ones concern Bloodgood suddenly having her own Monster Ball attire and Clawd indirectly beginning the whole mystery due to a mishap in the science lab before the dance that caused him to be absent for the beginning of the ball, when he was not missing at all in the TV series.
