Manny Taur, a Minotaur
Minotaurs are a type of monster in Monster High. Minotaurs are monsters from Greek mythology. Having the head of a bull and the body of a man, the minotaur was the offspring of Pasiphae, the wife of the Minos and a snow white bull. Poseidon, as a punishment to Minos, made his wife, Pasiphae, fall in love with the snow white bull, resulting in the birth of the minotaur. That minotaur was put into a labyrinth created for Minos to get rid of the minotaur, the labyrinth being created by Daedalus.
Monster High[]
Generation 1[]
In Monster High, there are three known Minotaurs, Manny Taur, Minnie Taur, and Crescenda Von Hammerstone. According to Manny, his family are all good at mazes except for him, which is most likely a reference to the original myth where the Minotaur was put into a labyrinth like maze.
Minotaurs also get angry whenever they see the color red.
Minotaurs celebrate a holiday called, "Minotaurial Day". Where they charge at each other, and head-butt each other, in a arena.
Generation 3[]
Eddy Hyde Jr., who also goes by the last name Komos is a former teacher at Monster High. He is the son of the late Eddy Hyde, a Jekyll/Hyde monster, and Ms. Hyde (née Komos), a minotaur. Although his father was half-human on the Jekyll side, Eddy Jr. is fully monster. Because Eddy Hyde was banished to the human world for his human side, Eddy Jr. uses his mother's last name to hide his connection to his father and keep himself safe.
Manny Taur is a student at Monster High, he is described as a "gentle giant" who "has a brain as big as his brawn". He loves to read and to solve puzzles, and is both a top student in Puzzle-ology class and high ranking on the school's Horror Roll. In spite of his inclusion on the Horror Roll though, Manny "never pass(es) up an opportunity for extra credit", which he finds thrilling while still making him incredibly nervous.
Description[]
Generation 1[]
Minotaurs in Monster High usually follow the description of having a bull-like upper body and a human lower body, or at least in the case of the males this is true. Female Minotaurs in Monster High have more human like heads, but still have bull-like horns and ears. Minotaurs also have hair like a normal human and bull-like tails.
Generation 3[]
Manny in generation 3, is a brown-furred teenage minotaur with a rather muscular build, droopy cow ears and gray-tipped horns with the left being broken off. His horns is partially buried under his short, neatly-styled blonde hair.
Abilities[]
Generation 1[]
- Increased Strength: Minotaurs have been shown to be very strong, being able to lift heavy things with no problem, and when they head-butt each other it can cause pillars to come crashing down. But a yeti could match that strength, as Abbey can pick up Manny and throw him over her shoulder.
