Lagoona & Clawdeen Figure Out Who Took Dracula? is the seventh episode of the Monster Ball Homecoming webseries. It is the twenty-third YouTube episode of the third generation overall. It premiered on December 8, 2023.

Description[]

Volume 3, Episode 7: Everything the Boo Crew have done so far hasn't worked, but maybe Clawdeen's backup plan to use a book with dangerous spells of dimensions and disasters can help! But they have to hurry and solve this case before the Monster High disco ball drops! Heath Burns, Frankie, Cleo, Draculaura, Clawdeen, Lagoona, or any one of the monsters can be the key to fixing this freaky Homecoming night!

Summary[]

Frankie, Clawdeen, and Lagoona pace up and down in the library, worried about their abducted friends' whereabouts. Clawdeen comes up with a backup plan to resuce them: using a spell called "The Dangerous Spell of Dimension Disasters" from the Witchcraft Codex. Just as she begins the incantation, a portal from the Not So Realm opens behind her and Lagoona, and the group who performed the dance from the previous episode fall out of it and on top of them. Frankie gives Deuce back his glasses after he accidentally turns the Codex to stone and Cleo is reunited with her scarabs. Clawdeen, crushed from everyone on top of her, suggests they should all head back to the dance.

In the ballroom, Frankie announces from their DJ station that those who have been abducted have returned, confusing the attendees. They then meet up with Draculaura, Clawdeen, and Lagoona to solve the mystery for good. Clawdeen asks Draculaura if she wants to rest, but Draculaura is determined to find her dad. Frankie brings over their detective mystery board, and reveals they even had to make a backup board with help from Cleo's scarab Rab. Draculaura removes the Formal Phantom's letter from the board, and reads it again: "When you all turn on each other, the disco ball will drop." They all look at the Skullette-shaped disco ball, which Clawdeen points out looks okay, but Lagoona warily mentions the similar disaster with the fog machines. Inspecting the board, Draculaura is shocked to see she is a suspect, with Frankie explaining that the only thing they know for sure is that the culprit has to be one of the Boo Crew, since the changed inscription on Cleo's pyramid read, "Cast out uninvited guests", meaning only an invited guest is responsible for ruining the pyramid. An upset Draculaura argues that she would never curse her dad into another dimension, but Frankie says they're just looking at all the possibilities. Getting back on track, Clawdeen brings back up the earworm prank, with Lagoona and Frankie instantly being suspicious of Clawdeen and Clawd for their access to the earworms and whereabouts respectively, but Draculaura and Clawdeen clear up that Clawd had already explained his whereabouts and someone who didn't know the code broke into the earworm pod. This leads to Lagoona questioning if those who were earwormed makes them not suspects and spectical of Heath again, as he wasn't earwormed and wrote the Abbey song. But Frankie notes Heath's alibi, meaning someone definitely stole his phone. The disco ball begins to look unstable, but nobody notices.

Eventually, when Frankie deduces that Cleo and Toralei are the only monsters that have been both earwormed and portaled, the crew become more and more suspicious of Cleo, and Frankie defends her to the group's growing irritation. The disco ball continues to become unstable. Out of the blue, Lagoona claims she's figured it out, when she's actually just turning everything into another one of her fantastical stories: the evil twin of Iris Clops, wanting the buried treasure of an old pirate ghost, tried to flush everyone everyone down a portal, with the real Iris stopping her because she's, in actuality, an international spy. Lagoona apologizes for going off course, but claims the story would make for a great telenovela called Monster Sp-igh. Suddenly, the massive disco ball falls, and Clawdeen and Lagoona get all the attendees to safety in the nick of time using their super speed. However, when the ball hits the ground, shards from it fly all over the place, and Frankie fires electricity from their hands to destroy the shards before they harm anyone. The disco ball then begins rolling around, and before it rolls over Heath, Lagoona shoots water from her hands, stopping it in its tracks. Frankie, Draculaura, Clawdeen, and Lagoona regroup as the crowd cheers for their heroics, with the four seemingly on good terms again. Unfortunately, a ticking noise that speeds up sounds from the disco ball just as Bloodgood returns, much to her shock. Frankie questions the odds of the ticking not being that big of a deal and everyone braces themselves for the worse.

Notes[]

  • Like the rest of the Nickelodeon G3 webisodes, this episode's upload on the official Monster High YouTube channel was set to private in September 2024 for unknown reasons.
    • This has made the original individual episode lost media through official means, but it is still available, like the rest of the volume, as an upload on the official Nickelodeon YouTube channel, which compiles all eight episodes into a 40 minute special. Said upload is blocked in the UK and Ireland.
  • This episode is alternatively titled "The Disco Ball Drop". It appears as text onscreen on the banner for the dance at the start of the second scene.
  • Clawdeen almost became a witch in this webisode, as she was about to cast the "The Dangerous Spell of Dimension Disasters" from the Witchcraft Codex. However, she was interrupted and is thus not considered one.
  • The Witchcraft Codex makes both its webisode and 2D animated debut.

Errors[]

  • For unknown reasons, the Witchcraft Codex doesn't speak nor has his face.
  • At the start of the second scene, Finnegan is still onstage playing his guitar, but no music plays from it.
