Description[]
By applying her jungle survival skills to Monster High, Jane Boolittle overcomes her shyness to attend her first-ever school dance.
Summary[]
The upcoming Jungle Boo-gie Dance will be Jane's first ever school dance and she's most anxious about it. Her confidence becomes even more under attack when her friends note that she has a good chance to be voted Jungle Queen during the dance. Toralei overhears and mocks the suggestion, since she will also be a candidate for Jungle Queen and is certain that Jane can't beat her. Jane's friends promise they'll vote for Jane, but Jane has already fled the scene, unable to handle Toralei or her friends' attempts to get her in the spotlight.
Despite fear eating her up, Jane does attend the dance. But rather than join the other students, she hides behind the door, too scared to go any further than that. Coincidentally, this does leave her within earshot of Toralei, who uses Jane's perceived absence to insult her and her home. Not one to let that slide, Jane is inspired by the cruel words to view Monster High as an environment comparable to her home, which makes her feel more at ease.
She finally steps out of the shadows to join her friends. Announcing that she'll show them an authentic jungle boo-gie, she begins to dance and soon has the attention of all partygoers. It only takes a little longer for everyone to enthusiastically go along with Jane's moves. Not surprisingly, Jane is voted Jungle Queen by a huge majority. Elated that the worst day turned into the best night, Jane accepts the crown with a smile and continues partying.
Characters[]
Notes[]
Other[]
- The dresses Jane and Toralei wear to the party are adapted from Cleo's Dawn of the Dance dress and Venus's I Heart Fashion dress respectively.
- Iris appears with an updated model.
Errors[]
- Because Jane describes lions as living in the jungle, she has to be referring to South Asian lions and thus a South Asian jungle. This works with her mentioning peafowls and herds in the jungle too. As such, it can be understood that Jane is from South Asia, even though her diaries and pet sloth all firmly suggest her to be from South America.
