Abbey Bominable, a yeti
Hominids in Monster High seems to be an umbrella term for yetis and bigfoot-type monsters (another term for them would be sasquatch). The word "hominid" means a primate of the family "Hominidae" (commonly known as "great apes"), that includes humans, their fossil ancestors, and (in recent systems) at least some of the great apes. The word 'hominid' ties in more with apes, and bigfoot is said to be a humanoid apelike monster. Yetis are also considered apelike, but they have white fur and live in colder areas in myths.

Generation 1[]
In G1 Monster High, the first hominid to be introduced properly was Abbey Bominable. Like yetis in myths, Abbey used to live in a colder area, and she even has ice powers that only yetis have, while her cousin Marisol Coxi, a sasquatch, has no ice powers. Abbey and Marisol's family relation confirms that yetis and sasquatches can be related. Sasquatches live in warmer areas, as shown where Marisol lives.
Generation 2[]
Like the rest of the monster species, hominids in the G2 Monster High universe went into hiding following the Great Monster Fright Flight. However, the Ghoul Squad was able to find a large yet friendly yeti/sasquatch-like creature named Woolee who was trapped in ice in an unknown snowy location and freed her, with her attending Monster High slowly after.[1]
A freshwater monster named Gillington Webber, who later enrolled to the school, was upset that the island he had lived on his whole life would be destroyed by a soon-erupting volcano. The Ghoul Squad set out to find a yeti with ice-powers and stumble upon two mountains using the Mapalogue, with Draculaura, Clawdeen, and Lagoona meeting Abbey Bominable, who was living in her own little house on top of the safer mountain. After resucing Frankie and Cleo from the dangerous mountain, Abbey helped use her powers to turn all the lava inside the volcano into ice, stopping it from erupting. After the students of Monster High throw a party on the island, Abbey later enrolls into the school.[2]
Generation 3[]
In the G3 Monster High universe, yetis are stereotyped as scary beings, being able to scare and threaten others to get what they want, and are thus mistreated against.
A yeti had never enrolled at Monster High until the 21st century presumably because of their uncontrollable powers, which led to many students thinking that yetis were banned from Monster High. However, it turns out that yetis haven't been banned from enrolling in the school for years, and this message was flown off to Mount Neverest last century. Because the message presumably never reached, Nepali yeti Tundra Bominable had shielded her daughter Abbey from going to school and interacting with other monsters all her life, until she ran away on one of the annual Nightmore celebrations. After meeting Abbey at Dracula's mansion, the Boo Crew came to learn that yetis are actually very kind-hearted and fun-loving monsters. After the students and Bloodgood convinced Tundra to change her ways, Abbey became the first yeti to enroll at Monster High.[3]
Description[]
Generation 1[]
In Monster High, sasquatches have large feet and grey and brown fur on their legs and arms. They also have small, clawed hands, feet and somewhat big and pointy ears.
On the other hand, Yetis have been shown to have blue skin, with two small tusks protruding from their mouth. They also have clawed hands. Both yetis and sasquatches tend to be very tall.

Abilities []
Generation 1[]
- Cryokinesis: Yetis can create and manipulate ice and frost. They can manifest this in several ways:
- Ice Sneeze: When Abbey gets sick (which she usually doesn't), she will sneeze, affecting her environment, usually leading to ice being created somewhere.
- Ice Building: Usually, when yetis want to project or form ice, they will throw their arms forward and generate ice from their bare hands. They can build anything, from ice bridges to holographic-looking ice walls.
- Icy projection: In generaton 3, Yetis can project icy blue holograms with their cryokinesis.
- Ice Touch: By simply touching stuff, yetis can freeze objects.
- Body Thermal-Regulation: Yetis can decrease their body temperature to extremely low temperatures, and they will freeze whatever touches them. Their tears will also freeze when they cry, as well as their drinks.
- Increased Strength: Yetis and sasquatches have shown incredible strength and resistance, which, presumed, comes naturally. Able to lift even the toughest of students, Abbey shows great ease when lifting things. This comes in handy when playing sports.
Generation 3[]
- Cryokinesis: Abbey can create and manipulate ice and frost.
- Ice Building: She can build anything, from ice bridges to holographic-looking ice walls.
- Icy projection: She can project icy blue holograms with her cryokinesis.
- Weather modification: Her powers are tied to her emotions, which can lead to her to losing control of her powers and snow on everything near her.
- Superhuman Strength: Abbey is muscular enough to lift one student at a time and carry heavy material with ease.
- Athleticism: Similar to Manny and Kuma, Abbey appears to be athletic, and her strong prowess may come in handy in some sports.
