Heath Burns is a 2022-introduced and all-around character. He is a fire elemental and student at Monster High. He is the son of Hades.

Personality[]
Heath is a fun-loving fire elemental. He is very passionate and feels his emotions very strongly. Particularly, he is very easy to anger, which is exacerbated by seeing many problems in the world to be angry about. However, he is always working on his anger issues and practices techniques to keep himself calm.[2][3] Despite his temper, he is a friendly and good-hearted monster who wants the do the right thing.
He is an environmental activist who works to raise awareness of and combat damage being done to the world, such as the destruction of coral reefs[2] and global warming.[3][4]
Appearance[]
Heath is a slim, flame-orange-skinned teenage fire elemental with pointy ears, dark orange eyebrows and amber eyes. His head is constantly lit aflame, thus resembling hair. However, when the fire gets blown or put out by water, he is mostly bald.
His attire consists of a two-piece, two-toned blue hoodie sweatshirt and shorts with white-outlined flames arising, alongside a pair of three-toned orange and off-white sneakers with yellow shoelaces, a small skull on each of the top, and flames attached at sides.
Abilities[]
Like all fire elementals, Heath has pyrokinesis:
- Pyrokinesis: He can generate fire from his own hands. He is also shown that when he burns something, his eyes glow.

Family[]
Heath has a grandmother he calls "Gammy", with whom he devotedly watches the soap opera Days of our Undead Lives.[5] He also has a grandfather that he calls “Grandfire”.
Heath's father is Hades[6] (also known as the Devil), who is responsible for and contributes to many evils in the world (including pimples, 24-hour news channels, and most notably global warming).[7] Heath is an environmental activist who is trying to raise awareness about and combat environmental damage that his father carelessly continues to cause, which has created a significant rift between them[4].
However, after Hades spoke to Tundra about how to handle his relationship with his son, Hades apologized to Heath and promised to try to be a better person and father (even asking his assistant to make a therapy appointment for him). He also agreed to be more environmentally conscious, which Heath states is a great start. While their relationship will take time and work to heal, they are both ready to put in the effort.

Romance[]
Much like their previous iterations, Heath is romantically involved with Abbey Bominable.
Before meeting her in "Nightmare Nightmore", Heath was terrified of yetis, believing that their ice powers didn’t mix well with fire elementals like himself. However, after meeting Abbey, he quickly became enamored by her and forgot all about his previous fears. When Heath offered Abbey some water, he called her "pretty", but was quick to correct himself. When the Boo Crew was heading towards a cliff in the ghoul mobile, Abbey had an idea about getting across by creating an ice bridge, but was unsure she could it. When her friends encouraged her, Heath told her how skillful, charismatic and beautiful she is, which gave Abbey the confidence she needed to successfully create the ice bridge. When Heath and the others try to convince Tundra to let Abbey attend Monster High, he tells Abbey that he wishes they met sooner, to which Abbey reacts by looking at him lovingly, indicating she might return his feelings. Near the end of the episode, Heath and Abbey are together under the 'missing toes' (which in tradition, means they're supposed to kiss) and Heath shyly pouts to kiss her, but Abbey was too excited about being in Monster High she accidentally buries everyone, including him, in snow.
In the music video "Feel the Energy", as Abbey is singing, she and Heath walked towards each other and touched hands, creating steam that formed into a heart.
In "Scareer Day", Heath is revealed to have become a fan of Abbey’s mother, Tundra, and her environmentalism. He accompanied Abbey during Tundra's scareer day presentation and the two worked together to save the school from slumber pixies. Later on, when Heath checks on up on her, she thanks him for caring, and when Hades embarrasses Heath by telling her he used to set his boogers on fire as a child, she giggles and admits that she used to pick her boogers just to freeze them. Hades later offered to give Heath dating advice, but he refused.
In "Monster Match", Heath asks Abbey in an extravagant way to be his date to the Monster Ball, which she joyfully accepts and hugs him.
In the "Monster Ball Homecoming" webseries, Heath makes a song dedicated to Abbey that he wanted to play at the Monster Ball, titled "Abbey You're So Cool!". The song was later used by Deuce's snakes to mind control people with earworms.
In "Mummy in the Mirror", the two are stated to have gone on at least one date, which Heath was late to because he was playing a video game. He then lied and said he was late because his Grandfire was visiting. When Abbey found out the truth, she dropped a giant snowball onto Heath, but didn’t seem too mad about it, as she smirked after doing so.
In, "So Chill", Heath was shown to be visibly happy when Abbey called him. Heath states that he would do anything to help Abbey, but refused when Abbey asked him to use his flames to unfreeze a frozen Clawdeen and Draculaura, as he didn't want to hurt them. Abbey then panics and loses control of her powers, causing her to accidentally freeze Heath, which she feels guilty about.
