Monster High Wiki

Gloom Beach doll line is the first Spring Break and beachwear line from Monster High. The line consists of six dolls, one of which is store-exclusive. Frankie Stein, Cleo de Nile, Jackson Jekyll, Clawdeen Wolf, and Draculaura were first released in late November 2010. In late July 2011, a five-pack exclusive to Target was released, containing all the Gloom Beach dolls except Jackson Jekyll, but including Ghoulia Yelps.

Name[]

The trademark for Gloom Beach was filed on May 19, 2010. The name refers to the fictional location with which the outfits are associated: Gloom Beach.

Assortment relations[]

Gloom Beach is the first Spring Break assortment, preceding Skull Shores and Scaris: City of Frights. As the first beachwear assortment, Gloom Beach came before Skull Shores and 'Beach Beasties'.

All accessories were exclusive to the line at its release, though a few have since been reused by other lines.

Doll logs[]

All five single-pack dolls come with a quote printed on the back of the box. They also come with messages in the form of postcards to send to friends at home or other vacation spots. The five-pack has two quotes on the back of the box belonging to Draculaura and Clawdeen. There are also two messages printed on the back: one is the card that Frankie sent to Ghoulia, and the other is the iCoffin message that Cleo sent to Ghoulia.

Fiction[]

Several webisodes in Volume 2, from Screech to the Beach to Road to Monster Mashionals, featured the ghouls in their Gloom Beach outfits. However, they never wore their haircuts. Additionally, these webisodes took place on Gloom Beach itself. The webisode Zom-Beach Party promotes the exclusive five-pack.

Trivia[]

  • In the webisodes and Zom-Beach Party Ghoulia wears her normal glasses but her Gloom Beach doll wears sunglasses.
  • Of all the dolls in the line, Cleo is the only one wearing a bikini instead of a one-piece.
