Frights, Camera, Action! - Hauntlywood is a deluxe doll line that consists of five characters. Four of them are new faces, as Frights, Camera, Action! - Hauntlywood is the introducees-centered subline of Frights, Camera, Action!. They are Elissabat, Viperine Gorgon, Clawdia Wolf, Honey Swamp, who together form a Hauntlywood movie crew. The fifth doll of the line, Operetta, a Walmart-exclusive, is a guest to the movie premiere like the dolls of Frights, Camera, Action! - Black Carpet are, but included in the Frights, Camera, Action! - Hauntlywood line because she's a deluxe doll and not a budget doll. The line sans Viperine and Operetta was released in Mid November 2013, with the other two respectively following in Late December and Mid February.
Name[]
The name Frights, Camera, Action! appears on the boxes, but no such trademark exists. Hauntlywood was trademarked on May 20, 2013.
Characteristics[]
As a TV special-related line, Frights, Camera, Action! follows on 13 Wishes and precedes Freaky Fusion. Frights, Camera, Action! - Hauntlywood specifically finds itself between 13 Wishes and Freaky Fusion - Hybrids, because all three are introducees-centered sublines. Frights, Camera, Action! - Hauntlywood is, however, the first introducees-centered subline to receive a specific subline name. Frights, Camera, Action! as a whole also marks the first time four new characters debut at once, which would become the standard from there on out.
Logs[]
Each doll comes with a diary and has their profile as well as a summary of the events of "Frights, Camera, Action!" printed on the back of the box.
Fiction[]
Though an image of Clawdia showed up in "13 Wishes", which was first available digitally on September 26, 2013, the character would not appear until the succeeding TV special. She and all of the Frights, Camera, Action! - Hauntlywood characters and fashions debuted in the tie-in "Frights, Camera, Action!", which was first available digitally on March 11, 2014, and returned in "Welcome to Hauntlywood". The latter paid specific attention to Operetta and Honey.
Since then the four introducees of the line have made webisode debuts in "Tales from the Script" (Clawdia), "Just Ghost to Show Ya" (Honey), and "Master of Hiss-guise" (Viperine & Elissabat). Nearly every piece of fiction to feature any of these four characters has them wearing or can be assumed to have them wearing their Frights, Camera, Action! - Hauntlywood fashion.
Frights, Camera, Action! received two commercials: one solely for the four introducees and the other mainly for the four introducees.
Notes[]
- Honey's stock photo does not display the bracelet that comes with the doll, and the clapperboard is a prototype design with more elaborate text than the version in stores and teeth that go in the chalkboard slate when closed instead of staying in front of it.
- Viperine's stock photo lacks the makeup brush and palette that come with the doll.
