The Fright-Mares comprises of twelve characters of whom are half centaur-half unique monster. They are Pyxis Prepstockings, Frets Quartzmane, Bay Tidechaser, Aery Evenfall, Fawntine Fallowheart, Skyra Bouncegait, Penepole Steamtail, Flara Blaze, Olympia Wingfield, Caprice Whimcanter, Meadoe Flurry, and Merry Trotabout.

Characteristics[]
They're small dolls with a centaur lower body that has four movable legs. Each has different traits that match the monster they are crossed with, some having horse-like tails, some not, and some have wings. Their clothing is also mostly made out of plastic rather than fabric.

- The first four Fright-Mares' packaging that were released did not have a pop-out artwork similar to the regular Monster High dolls. The next six releases' packaging was modified to be similar to regular Monster High doll packaging.
- As a consequence of the 2016 reboot, two Fright-Mares have gone unproduced: a griffin-based one and a dragon-based one. This information was temporarily available on Walmart's website.
- The Monster High website published a series of short web comics introducing the Fright Mares and their origins.
