Description[]
Draculaura, Frankie, Clawdeen and Lagoona search a tropical island for a fabled monster, Gil. But before traveling back to Monster High, the volcano in the middle of the island begins to erupt.
Summary[]
Cleo meets the rest of the Ghoul Squad as they search online with their phones, looking for clues of any monster sightings. Lagoona spots an article about a monster being sighted on a remote tropical island. Naturally, Cleo is excited about getting a chance to relax by a beach.
The ghouls head to the library, where Dracula reveals that he has built his own computer to help the ghouls research their adventures. He struggles to get it to work when looking up information on the island, so he goes back to his old books. He discovers the name of the island and that it has a dormant volcano. The ghouls set off to travel, but Dracula forbids Cleo from going because she has to finish a homework assignment, much to her dismay.
The ghouls teleport to the island, where they immediately find some footprints. Walking deeper into the island, they come across a six-armed spider monkey. Draculaura is immediately charmed by it and goes to pet it when it snatches the Monster Mapalogue from her. She and Frankie offer to chase after the monkey and retrieve the Mapalogue, while Clawdeen and Lagoona continue searching for the monster. They find a set of scales, which suggests that they're looking for a water monster and one that lives in freshwater. Lagoona thinks that the monster might want a good view of the ocean and suggests that they climb the volcano. Suddenly, the volcano rumbles, and Clawdeen realizes Dracula's book on the island might be out of date.
Back at Monster High, Cleo is trying to finish her homework but keeps getting distracted by Dracula as he tries, and fails, to get his computer to work. Eventually, he gives up and tries to throw it away, but Cleo convinces him to give it another try and shows him how to find videos of werekittens online. Soon, he's obsessed with watching cat videos, distracting Cleo even further.
Draculaura and Frankie chase after the spider monkey on the island, who keeps teleporting away while chewing the mapalogue. Elsewhere, Lagoona and Clawdeen climb up the mountain and almost reach the top when a tremor causes Clawdeen to lose her grip. Lagoona pulls her up and is helped by the water monster they've been looking for. The monster introduces himself as Gil and reveals he lives in a hut near the volcano. With the volcano about to erupt, he's more than happy to make the move to Monster High.
Frankie and Draculaura get in a tug of war with the spider monkey for the Mapalogue, and Draculaura uses it to teleport them all to Clawdeen's location. As the volcano erupts, they try to use the Mapalogue to escape, only to discover it has run out of power and needs to recharge. Gil remembers he has some wooden surfboards and suggests they use them to escape. They use the surfboards to slide down the mountain back to the shore. The Mapalogue recharges, and they teleport back home.
Cleo has finished her homework and is eager to finally visit the island, even after the ghouls tell her it's about to be destroyed. They all decide to watch cat videos with Dracula instead.

Errors[]
- Although the spider monkey is an important plot point for the next episode, it makes no sense that the Ghoul Squad leaves the critter on the island knowing full-well that it and anything on it soon will be destroyed.
