Description[]

Volume 4, Episode 1: Cupid kicks off her podcast, sharing Draculaura's journey to Hauntlywood for her 1600th birthday! With party plans, a big award, and surprises galore, the adventure of the century begins!

Summary[]

Draculaura, Clawdeen, Frankie, and Cleo have joined their classmate Cupid for her radio show, 'Heart to Heart', where she covers all monster relationships. Draculaura informs the viewer that no one could predict what could have happened on her big 1,600th birthday, and Clawdeen interrupts, telling her Cupid could. Cupid herself specifies that her powers work as prophetic visions (slight confusion from Frankie, who thought she said 'pathetic'). Her watch then alarms - it's time for her podcast to begin. All five of them are going to tell the listeners the story of Draculaura's sweet 1600 birthday, which all started with breaking news...

Flashback to an ordinary day at Monster High. Lagoona, Abbey, and Venus are fanging out in the creepateria when they hear a spine-chilling scream. All three stand, ready to attack with their powers, as Clawd and Heath cowardly hide in the back. Turns out it's only Cupid, who flies down the stairs with an envelope in hand. She explains that once in every hundred years, the monster world votes for the 'Monster of the Century', and this century's winner has been chosen, much to the other ghouls' excitement and eagerness to know who it is. Cupid sings a song dropping hints of who it could be, and the students try to guess who it is until she eventually tells them: it's Draculaura! But she warns them to be quiet for now; it's a surprise. Draculaura herself paces up and down her room, stressing out about her planning for her birthday, when the envelope slides in under her door, giving her a fright.

A vampire's 1600th birthday is a huge milestone for them, as they are supposed to have mastered all their powers, but Draculaura was facing a huge problem, as she cannot do telekinesis, no matter how hard she tries. During the podcast, Draculaura says she just wanted the rest of her birthday to perfect, with Clawdeen showing off her enormous 'perfect birthday party binder' as proof. When Draculaura read the envelope saying she was Monster of the Century, she was estatic. Her iCoffin explodes with notifications from her family group chat, as her mom and dad both congratulate her. But her dad's text, in which he says all eyes are on her, sends her into panic mode. She's still nowhere near the vampire her dad thinks she is. That's when Clawdeen, Cleo, and Frankie all burst in asking for the scoop. Draculaura reads the letter in the envelope out loud; her continuous courage to pursue witchcraft despite the judgement she faced has inspired others, thus winning her the award. There will be a grand ceremony to celebrate, in which her name will be immortalized with her own Skullette on the Hauntlywood Boulevard, but it's on the same night as her birthday, meaning her carefully planned party will have be cancelled, causing her to panic even more. Fortunately, her ghoulfriends had a plan - they were gonna throw her an actual surprise party in Hauntlywood at the same time as the ceremony and use her binder for inspiration. Just before the Boo Crew set off into the Ghoul Mobile to Hauntlywood, Draculaura tries to practice telekinesis on an SPF 500 bottle, to no result, and she prepares to leave with uncertainty.

Back at the show, Cupid says the monster of the century was in for the surprise of the century. She picks up the binder, questioning how many ideas are even in it. Cleo retorts there's enough for the next 1600 years, and everyone laughs.
