Description[]

Volume 4, Episode 5: Draculaura shines on Hauntlywood Blvd as friends race to stop a spooky surprise. Celebrate with magic, music, and a reminder: true power comes from embracing your unique self!

Summary[]

The Monster of the Century ceremony has officially begun. Draculaura, Clawdeen, Frankie, and Cleo stun in their party gowns for the paparazzi outside the Boo-tique Hotel. Cupid and Catty join them, with the latter having Draculaura ecstatic due her famous pop star status. Draculaura now has her own Skullette on the Hauntlywood Boulevard, and after Catty introduces her to the audience, she sings about how she has learned to overcome her struggles by just being herself in a big performance with her beasties. However, from one of the hotel's balconies, Frankie and Cleo spot something troubling... Back in the present at the "Heart to Heart" podcast, Cleo explains how they were trying to solve a problem, but the others tease her over how it turned out, and even Frankie points out they were a little "extra".

Continuing on, Frankie and Cleo rush to the hotel front desk, frantically trying to warn Nefera. The duo explains that during the festivities while everyone was dancing, they spotted a mysterious figure running amongst the crowd and into the hotel. Whilst following the figure, they found a clue: a petal from a black rose, Draculaura's favorite flower, meaning someone wanted to sabotage the night. The figure then bolted into the hidden fashion studio Nefera showed them earlier. The three therefore enter as well to stop the figure, who they find making movements in front of a mirror. As it turns out however, the whole time it was only Clawd, who was practicing his dance moves as a surprise for Draculaura. Heath is also practicing with him, although he's not as good as he is. Clawd only ran away from Frankie and Cleo when the latter two tried catching up to him because he was wearing his noise-cancelling skullphones. A frustrated Cleo yells she's done with surprises for the next millenium.

The Boo Crew throw Draculaura a surprise sweet 1600th birthday party in the hotel lobby. Suddenly, the lights mysteriously dim as Clawd and Heath strut down the stairs to make an entrance, but their performance turns out to be an awkward fumbling disaster (even Draculaura has a hard time complimenting it). Clawd gifts Draculaura a bouquet of black petal roses - the two lovebirds lock eyes. Clawdeen and Frankie then bring out the two birthday cakes, both of which Draculaura love unconditionally. Draculaura announces to everyone that their Hauntlywood adventure has made her realize that confidence doesn't matter, it's celebrating who she is today. Cupid also notes that it turns out her prophecy wasn't about anything horrible: it was about Draculaura realizing her worth to overcome her fear of failure.

At the podcast, Cupid explains they then partied all night. As this episode of "Heart to Heart" comes to a close, she again wishes Draculaura a happy 1600th birthday, but the story isn't over. She tells the listeners not to miss what's coming next as it's going to be to die for.

Notes[]

  • It is unknown what exactly Cupid is referring to when she mentions not to miss what's coming next at the end of the webisode. It could have simply been the animated music video version of KATSEYE's cover of "Fright Song", which was released a week later.

Continuity[]

  • The "ice-cream mountain" Lagoona and Abbey built in the previous episode is seen behind the two cakes.
  • Draculaura and Clawd's romantic relationship is indirectly acknowledged. Clawd wanted to surprise Draculaura with a dance performance and even gifts her a bouquet of black roses, after which they share sentimental looks.

Errors[]

  • Catty was amongst the other Monster High students who arrived at the hotel in "Cupid's Vision That Started the Panic" and was even amongst the monsters helping sort the luggage alongside Draculaura towards the end of that episode. Somehow Draculaura did not know she was present for her big night until now.
  • Clawd and Heath also know about the Boo-tique Hotel's secret passageways with no explanation.
