Cupid Asteria is a 2025-introduced and all-around character. She is an unknown type of monster (presumably a bone elemental) and a student at Monster High. She was raised by her father, Eros, the Greek god of desire, on Mount Olympus, and adores the subject of love.

Character

Appearance

Cupid has shimmery off-white skin that fades into a semi-transparent black on her feet up to her calves, along with, white markings on the front of her legs with a ribbon and a bow & arrow design. Her hair is curly, light pink with platinum blonde streaks, with straight bumper bangs. Cupid also has wings that are made of carved bone in the overall shape of a burst-open rib cage.

She wears a dress with pink frills on the bottom and a golden pattern, giving it a shimmery look over the golden-caged skirt that is attached to an arrow-pierced heart chest piece. Underneath is a red sweetheart candy print romper with hip cutouts, frilly pink sleeves, and matching bloomer shorts. Her high heels have Greek pillar platforms, with straps that are made of rope. The design features heart motifs, and her heels themselves are a cupid's bow.

For accessories, Cupid wears a golden bow and arrow bracelet on her left wrist, and on her right wrist, she wears a red rope-like arrow bracelet. On her head, Cupid wears a red headband with a sweetheart candy motif, the middle has an arrow-pierced heart with the word "xoxo", and on the sides is another heart, but this time in a teal color.

Personality

Frilly, fierce and fun, Cupid loves love. She has a knack for making friends, giving advice, and floating through starry skies on her bone wings. She uses her powers and her podcast, “Heart to Heart”, to help monsters with their relationships, not just romantic ones.

Abilities

• Prophetic Visions: Cupid is able to have visions about other monsters, gaining insight on their relationships. Some interpretation is required however.
• Flight: Cupid can use her wings to fly.

Timeline

• July 24th, 2024: Mattel requests the trademark for Cupid Asteria.
• January 8th, 2025: youloveit.com obtained and shares the Scary Sweet Birthday doll stock photos.
• July 2025: Her core doll is released in most stores and retailers.
• August 30th, 2025: She makes her cartoon debut in "Draculaura's Birthday Surprise".

Notes

• Whereas she does not carry on the name/trademark of C.A. Cupid fully, her initials do remain to be "C.A.", most likely referencing her previous counterpart’s name.
• Like her G1 counterpart, she is the daughter of Eros, the Greek god of desire (though it is unknown if she too was adopted).
  • She shares her name with her father's Roman counterpart, Cupid.
  • Since Eros is her father, this means that she is likely related to Heath Burns, the son of Hades.
• Her surname likely comes from Asteria, a Titaness from Greek mythology. She was associated with falling stars, nighttime divination, and the island of Delos.
  • It's unknown if Cupid has any relation to Asteria. However, Cupid is said to enjoy "flying through starry skies" and mentioned stars several times in her character song. Also, like the Titaness, she is able to see into the future.
• Just like her previous counterpart, Cupid hosts her very own podcast, but it doesn't share the same name.
  • In G1, it's called "On Air with Cupid", while in G3, it's called "Heart to Heart".
• Cupid's G1 counterpart was also a major character in Ever After High, a companion franchise to Monster High with characters who were based on characters from fairy tales and fantasy stories, rather than monsters and mythical creatures.
  • The franchise and titular school took place in a separate dimension from Monster High. Despite not being from the same dimension, or being a fairytale character, Cupid transferred to Ever After High (thanks to an interdimensional mirror portal) because her father gave her a mission to help the school's students follow their hearts.
