Fascinated by Kuma's scare-itage, Frankie does a ritual unsupervised causing trouble for all of Monster High's undead students!
Plot[]
Frankie is recording their monster minute in their IBall, they are very happy, because Watzie, their frankendog pet, has finally returned to Monster High from the dragon migration. Also, it's the day of the big Monster High Scaritage (Heritage) Festival, where students make presentations about their families, ancestors and traditions. Frankie is walking down the halls, where the students are making their presentations. They first see Spectra's presentation, where she shows that scaring others is how ghosts celebrate their scaritage. Then Frankie sees Lagoona and Finnegan's, they have great-grand-kraken in common, because Lagoona's ancestor stole Finnegan's ancestor's heart (literally), then Frankie sees Ghoulia's presentation about zombies. Frankie then meets up with Clawdeen, who decided to not participate because the Werewolf Pack doesn't share their history with outsiders. The two go see Draculaura's presentation, where she talks about vampires' transformation powers and her parents, she shows her father Dracula is from Transylvania and her mother Wei Fang is from Taiwan.
But Frankie gets more interested in Kuma's scaritage presentation. Kuma tells his fellow students about the onikuma's tradition of testing their strenght by picking up boulders. He asks if anyone wants to try, Frankie wants to. After struggling a little, Frankie manages to pick up the boulder for a short time, but drops on Kuma's presentation, destroying it. Frankie apologizes, but Kuma congratulates Frankie for it. Frankie sees a poster of Kuma eating in a haunt dog (hot dog) eating contest, which Kuma have won for three years in a row. Frankie gets really interested in Kuma's scaritage and asks him to tell them everything about it. In the Coffin Bean, Kuma gives Frankie a traditional dish of the onikuma: worm-men, that is like yakisoba but with worms and eyeballs instead. Frankie tries the worm-men and loves it. This makes Kuma happy, Frankie is the first non-onikuma monster to like his food. Mortimer the Delivery Dragon gives Kuma a letter from his grandmother. Frankie asks Kuma if he is homesick, he confirms it. He mentions something the onikuma do, called the "Rest In Peace Feast", a ritual where onikuma honor their deceased ancestors. Frankie wishes they could something like this at school, and Kuma claims it takes a lot of work to do it.
Kuma leaves to write a reply letter to his grandmother and thanks Frankie for sharing his traditions with him. In their dorm, Frankie is reading in their ICoffin about the Rest In Peace Feast, when Clawdeen and Draculaura enter. Frankie shows their best friends Kuma's traditions and decides to make the Rest In Peace Feast to surprise him and help him heal his homesickness. Clawdeen and Draculaura think it's best for Frankie to ask Kuma about it, but Frankie wants it to be a suprise and leaves the dorm to get the stuff for it. In the graveyard, Frankie gathers some skulls in a circle and a bowl with worm-men for the ritual, They shout the chants of the ritual to make the ritual, but don't say them correctlyat first, then nothing happens, so Frankie leaves. But as they left, dark clouds and wind come near the bowl, and lightings strike from the sky, lighting up the skulls.
In the school, Frankie is tighting the bolts of their prosthetic leg, then they see Deuce running away from Ghoulia and other zombies. Their eyes are glowing green and they are seeking to eat brains like traditional zombies. They try to get Frankie, but they escape with Deuce. Frankie asks Deuce why Ghoulia is acting like this but he doesn't know. To slow the zombies down, Frankie shots them with lightnings and Deuce turns them into stone. But the zombies break free a few seconds later, Frankie and Deuce run again and Deuce ends up hiding in his locker. Frankie then sees Lagoona and Draculaura, Draculaura's eyes are also glowing green and she is seeking to suck blood. Frankie and Lagoona run away, having no idea what is happening. The two head to the Coffin Bean and to their shock, other students have green glowing eyes and are trying to eat brains and suck blood of their fellow students, with one of them being Spectra. The students who are not under the same condition are fighting back and/or protecting themselves with their powers. Kuma gets in the Coffin Bean, and is shock when he learns that Frakie did the Rest In Peace Feast ritual. Frankie still believes the ritual didn't work because no hungry souls appeared, but when they see their eyes glowing-friends are hungry and thirsty for brains and blood, Frankie realizes the Rest In Peace Feast ritual caused their friends to be possessed by hungry spirits.
Lagoona leads Frankie and Kuma to the pipes, where they use to escape to her dorm. Safe in Lagoona's room, Kuma asks Frankie why they did the ritual without asking him. Frankie responds they wanted to suprise him and they thought it would be easy, Kuma then explains the ritual is more complicated and serious than it seems, and he had to go to a special school just to learn the chants. The possessed students start to try to break the door of Lagoona's dorm, so Kuma leads his friends on fixing the mess.
They get some lanterns with the pictures of the possessed students, and go to the graveyard, in the exact same place where Frankie did the ritual in the first time. While Lagoona fights the possessed Draculaura, Spectra and Ghoulia, Kuma and Frankie get the things ready. Frankie lights up the lanterns with their friends' pictures, Kuma shouts the chants and the lanterns glow brighter, then the skulls Frankie gathered earlier stop glowing. This reverts the effects of the ritual, Draculaura, Spectra and Ghoulia are turned back to normal, but with no memory of what happened. Lagoona takes the ghouls back to the school while explaining to them what happened. Frankie apologizes to Kuma for not realizing how serious the ritual is, Kuma forgives them and invites them to get some worms to make some worm-men. Kuma and Frankie, with Watzie go dig some worms from the ground and eat them together.
