Monster High Wiki
Variations

Clawdeen Wolf is the main protagonist of Monster High: The Movie and Monster High 2. She is an Afro-Latina half-werewolf, half-human daughter of the human Apollo Wolf.

Description[]

15-year-old Clawdeen is half-werewolf/half-human, and a bit sheltered since she was raised in the human world. She’s got plenty of pizzazz, oodles of charm, and loves to have fun. Plus, she’s got special skills when it comes to skateboarding! Though she’s been accepted into Monster High, she occasionally still transforms back into a human. This makes Clawdeen nervous about the Monster’s Only policy: “Only those of true monster heart may enter.” Played by Miia Harris.

Background[]

Clawdeen grew up an outsider in the human world, having to conceal her half-werewolf identity. Raised by her dad Apollo, Clawdeen enrolls into Monster High, and while hesitant to leave her father, she is excited to meet fellow monsters and find where she belongs.

Personality[]

Clawdeen is spunky, spirited, and incredibly kind. She's excitable and open-minded, if a little awkward sometimes. She doesn't tolerate rudeness and will put anyone in their place if they hurt her or her friends. Clawdeen doesn't judge any of the monsters at Monster High and quickly accepts everyone, freaky flaws and all. In the second movie, she is shown being friendly and welcoming to the new students, so that they can feel accepted just as her new friends welcomed her. She is also a strong leader of her pack, being outspoken and compassionate and willing to raise anyone up from the shadows.

Abilities[]

Being half-werewolf, Clawdeen possesses many werewolf abilities:

  • Human and Werewolf Transformation: Clawdeen can transform into a human when she feels strong emotions, such as fear, anger, or anxiety, because of her half-human heritage. In the second film, she seemingly masters this ability, as she can do this at will.
  • Enhanced Strength: She is incredibly strong, but it only occurs when the full moon is visible.
  • Enhanced Speed: She can run very fast. For example, she was able to save Cleo from a falling gargoyle.

Skills[]

  • Skateboarding: Clawdeen is a skilled skateboarder, having learned it as a hobbie in the human world.
  • Singing: She is a great singer.

Relationships[]

Frankie Stein[]

Frankie is one of Clawdeen's roommate, and the first person Clawdeen befriends at Monster High. She rolls with Frankie's quirks and they bond over being new students and completely naïve to the monster world. Frankie struggles with fitting in and wanting to be popular, and Clawdeen connects with them as she was an outsider in human society. The two are incredibly close and are always seen together.

Draculaura[]

Clawdeen's other roommate, Draculaura was initially uninterested in getting closer to Frankie and Clawdeen, as she kept to herself. Clawdeen took Draculaura's seeming-rudeness in strides and had no problems when she found out Draculaura was a witch; she was supportive and amazed instead. In the second movie, Clawdeen and Draculaura have a falling out as Draculaura wants to leave Monster High to pursue her witchcraft, and Clawdeen doesn't want any of her new friends to leave her. Even though this breaks Clawdeen's heart, she supports Draculaura and her craft, despite the school's growing suspicion of witches. Clawdeen puts her life in jeopardy to break Draculaura out of a silver cage, and Draculaura's anger powers her magic to save the day. The two reconcile their friendship.

Cleo de Nile[]

Clawdeen is initially unimpressed with Cleo's rudeness and shallowness, and stands up to her when she is mean to Frankie. They clash as Cleo is Deuce's ex, and Cleo is suspicious of Clawdeen's true monster heart. Clawdeen, however, acts as the bigger person, even going as far as to save Cleo's unlife by pushing her out of the way of a falling gargoyle. Clawdeen gains Cleo's respect when she uses her human form to defeat the villainous Komos. In the second movie, Cleo and Clawdeen are now friends, and Cleo appoints herself as Clawdeen's campaign manager for student representative. The two don't see eye-to-eye however as Cleo wants Clawdeen to compromise her beliefs on witchcraft to get student support.

Toralei Stripe[]

Toralei is instantly hostile to Clawdeen at first meeting, suspicious of her half-human heritage because of her own recent experiences with witches while in France, which had left her with scars. The two become rivals as they are both competing for school representative, with Toralei campaigning off of fearmongering as well as anti-human and anti-witchcraft prejudice. Clawdeen becomes discouraged in her ability to win, but stands up for herself and her beliefs. In the finale, Toralei puts aside her dislike for Draculaura's witchcraft and agrees to come with Clawdeen and the others to help her, since she still considers Draculaura to be one of "her pack", despite their different beliefs. Toralei is impressed by Clawdeen's strength and determination to save her monster friend, and when Clawdeen wins the running, Toralei congratulates her. The two bond over their shared scars from silver and their were-creature species, with Toralei saying that they "share the moon".

Romance[]

Deuce Gorgon[]

In the live-action movie series, Clawdeen instantly has feelings for Deuce Gorgon, and he feels the same for her after his break-up with Cleo de Nile over her horrible behavior. They connect with each other because of how they have been mistreated because of their monster species, with him being a gorgon and her being half werewolf in human society. In the second movie, they are both supportive of each other, and Clawdeen takes special time for Deuce to be himself and take off his glasses around her (with her wearing his stone-proof glasses). At the end of the movie, Deuce decides to leave Monster High and go on a year-long traditional gorgon trip to find himself, and the two part on amicable terms after sharing a kiss.
