The two ghouls get surprised by who, or what, could be behind this mystery that is sending monsters to another dimension and Toralei may be a suspect!
Summary[]
The portal that Dracula got sucked into closes. As Draculaura sulks, Clawdeen assures her that they'll find out where her dad has been taken to. While Bloodgood rants about severely punishing whichever student is responsible, Clawdeen finds an envelope on a nearby desk. When Bloodgood examines it, she terrifyingly exclaims that she hasn't seen it since the the last homecoming. Bloodgood leaves in a rush, taking the envelope with her; she demands the Boo Crew to get the dance back on track while she tries to get Dracula back to avoid a panic amongst the rest of the students. Draculaura states that they must find out what's in the envelope but agrees with Bloodgood with keeping this mystery under wraps - Cleo, Frankie, and Deuce will go to distract everyone attending the ball whilst Draculaura and Clawdeen go and confront Bloodgood. Cleo wonders how the dance is going without a DJ - there's a cut to Finngean entertaining everyone by playing on his guitar, when Lagoona suddenly comes up and plays her tuba. Cleo briefly updates her EekTok followers on the situation, yet Clawdeen's reminder quickly makes her realize that keeping this under wraps means no posting about it, which she admits she'll find difficult.
Clawdeen and Draculaura enter Bloodgood's office, which is entirely dark and seemingly empty. Booby traps are randomly triggered, such as axes swinging down on them and arrows firing from the walls. A giant lava pit opens up on the floor, and despite Draculaura saving Clawdeen from falling into it immediately, they hang onto a chandelier for dear life. Bloodgood's head slides through the secret passage behind her portrait and onto her desk; she turns off the traps with a simple voice command. Safe from the danger, the students are told by Bloodgood that she found it necessary to ramp up such measures and she reveals that the letter is from the "Formal Phantom", an urban legend, said to be a prankster, in the monster world who is actually very real. Bloodgood tells the two the story of the frightful night when the Formal Phantom ruined the school's previous homecoming dance before the event was canceled, when she was a student at Monster High at the time - Clawdeen jokingly tries to guess what Bloodgood's real name is. Bloodgood continues the story: as she was enjoying the festivities of the night, the Phantom unleashed itself from the depths of the school, opening a huge portal that would shift the entire school into another dimension. Bloodgood was frozen in fear when her head fell off as everyone else made a run for it, leaving her all alone on the dancefloor - but her instincts took over. Her body took initiative and destroyed the cursed object that caused the portal, a camera. It was then that Bloodgood decided she wanted to become the headmistress of Monster High after graduation. Back in the present, Bloodgood's body brings in a potential suspect: Toralei Stripe.
Bloodgood believes there's a connection between Toralei and the Phantom. She reveals what the note in the envelope says, which not only states that the disco ball will "drop" when everyone turns on each other, but includes a lot of cat puns and mentions the earworm prank. Draculaura instantly accuses Toralei of being guilty, but Bloodgood and Clawdeen call her out for coming to such hasty conclusions, with Toralei even reminding her that she was earwormed too; she assures everyone that she's changed her ways and was not in fact responsible for the letter. Toralei notices a code written on the letter, "19 08 9-POD", and Clawdeen and Draculaura struggle to deduce what it means. Bloodgood frustratingly comments that this is nothing but a dead end, but suddenly gets sucked into another portal that mysteriously appears too. Her head is left behind however, with her commenting in relief, but then that gets sucked in too as the portal briefly reappears to do so; Clawdeen comments that Bloodgood spoke too soon.

Notes[]
- Like the rest of the Nickelodeon G3 webisodes, this episode's upload on the official Monster High YouTube channel was set to private in September 2024 for unknown reasons.
- This has made the original individual episode lost media through official means, but it is still available, like the rest of the volume, as an upload on the official Nickelodeon YouTube channel, which compiles all eight episodes into a 40 minute special. Said upload is blocked in the UK and Ireland.
- This episode is alternatively titled Legend of the Formal Phantom. It appears as text onscreen when Bloodgood picks up the Phantom's envelope.
- Draculaura reveals that "the floor is lava" is one of her favorite games. Clawdeen irritatedly points out that that's only because she has the unfair advantage of flying by turning into a bat.
Continuity[]
- Lagoona plays her tuba again, which was first seen in the TV series season 1 episode, "Horrorscope", where she played it to attract her true love's attention.
- Bloodgood's head enters her office through the same portrait passage that first appeared in "Food Fight". This means that it came from somewhere in the Catacombs.
- Headmistress Bloodgood's G1 counterpart's first name was Nora, but in this episode as Clawdeen keeps guessing what she was called before she was headmistress, she responds that "they just called me Bloodgood". It is unknown whether her first name is still Nora or not.
- Toralei is mentioned to no longer commit to her mean girl antics. This in line with the TV series since "Power Heist".
- Like the previous webisode, the events of "Earworm" are yet again referred to.
Errors[]
- The text on the envelope does not sync with Ms. Bloodgood's movements.
