Catarina Stripe is a 2023-introduced and fiction-only character. She is a werecat, the mother of Toralei Stripe and the former Were-Ruler. She was the main antagonist of the 2022 series’ first season.

Background[]
Catarina, when she was younger, attended Monster High. As an adult, she became the Were-Ruler, after secretly trapping the former Were-Ruler, Selena Wolf, in an alternate dimension, called "Beheme".
Personality[]
Catarina was shown to be dedicated to her role as the ruler of the werebeasts, which occupied all her time and energy, resulting in her being neglectful to her daughter Toralei. Toralei's course of action seem to be fueled by wanting her mother's approval, which again emphasizes Catarina’s neglect. Catarina is short-tempered, but tries to keep a professional demeanor when eyes are on her. Ultimately, Catarina is cruel, selfish and manipulative, doing whatever it takes to put herself on top, not unlike her own daughter Toralei's own character traits.
Catarina has a strong conservative mindset; she wants to maintain what she believes is the "monster way", which drove her desire to imprison Selena in Beheme to prevent her from spreading her ideologies. This desire grew so intense that she became an expert on the monster talismans, and created her own talisman that would grant her the power of every monster type, so she could use her newly acquired powers to rule over all of monster society. Thankfully, the Boo Crew stopped her and she was shortly arrested in disgrace after her defeat. She now resides at the Reform Center for Beastie Baddies, where she regularly attends therapy sessions with Toralei.[1]
Appearance[]
Catarina is a tall, slender and light orange-furred werecat woman with brown stripes on her forehead, the sides of her face, shoulders, legs and signature long tail. Around her mouth, down to her chin, neck and stomach, along with her feet are colored in a lighter shade of her fur, and she sports sleek, chin-length brown hair with a peanut-brown streak. Her hair also reveal her rather big, triangular ears with ends being the same color as her fur-stripes.
Her eyebrows are colored in a slightly lighter shade than her hair, and her lime-green have slit pupils and thick eyelashes protruding from it. She also possesses a dusty-pink nose and sharp fangs inside of her mouth, and her makeup consists of black eyeshadow around her eyes, red lipstick, and orange nail polish on her sharp claws.
For attire, Catarina wore clothing that is mostly business wear, which consists of a set of thin, rectangle-framed black glasses over her eyes, a light magenta camisole top under a barn-red velvet blazer with scratches printed all over it, a darker-colored pencil skirt and two-toned maroon high-heels. She accessorized with a thin, multi-chained golden necklace hanging from her neck.
Abilities[]
She possesses all the abilities of an average werecat, but, after using the All Monster Talisman to absorb the power from Monster High’s wellspring, she had the abilities of every single monster type.

Catarina is the mother of Toralei Stripe and aunt to Meowlody and Purrsephone.
According Toralei, Catarina was a better mother to her when she was little, but ever since she became Were-Ruler, she has become much worse. Throughout the series, Catarina has been shown to be a terrible mother to Toralei, being both neglectful and emotionally abusive.
She often sets too high of expectations for Toralei, scolding her for anything less than perfect, and often pushed her conservative beliefs onto her (ex: her hatred of humans and witches). Catarina has also been shown to hold little to no care for her daughter’s well being, having no problem trapping her along with her friends with no means of escape.
When her mother was defeated, Toralei expressed her desire to help her, despite everything she did to her, and has been attending therapy sessions with Catarina ever since her arrest (although it is unknown if it is going well).
