About[]
Growing up great storytelling empowered me to be a braver, kinder, more pop-culture-savvy kid who dreamt that one day I would get to bring new stories to life for the next generation. Flash forward to today and I'm doing just that! As an experienced consumer products designer, I believe that storytelling is the key to successful design and I'm passionate about helping brands translate their narratives into products that resonate.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
- INSIGHTFUL DESIGNER’S EYE: As a designer with a fashion background and over six years of toy, textile and graphic design experience, I am able to easily identify and translate visual, cultural trends into impactful graphics and physical forms. I am often tapped as the go-to lead for trend board ideation for my ability to understand the visual and cultural values of distinct brands and ability to translate that over into a cohesive mass market targeted visual direction for the product season. I start every morning by checking WGSN for daily updates!
- WHITE SPACE INNOVATOR: I am constantly brainstorming what to pitch next and collaborating with others to utilize new perspectives and skills to bring the "Next Big Thing" to life – both within company-directed pitch opportunities but also outside of my daily responsibilities. Fun Fact: In 2018 I pitched a Sanrio licensing doll property (a year ahead of Mattel's future partnership with Sanrio) and was lucky enough to bring this idea through testing to the market as part of Mattel's 2020 Sanrio partnership toy launch.
- EXPERIENCED LICENSEE BACKGROUND: I have created and led product lines across a wide variety of properties ranging from DC Superhero Girls to Spirit: Untamed to Hello Kitty & Friends, helping to transform each licensor's brand style and values into top-performing key toys for each line and leading fashion doll ideation in pitches for Karma's World and Disney Princesses. In 2017 I was part of Mattel’s TOTY-winning design team for DC Superhero Girls for their action figure segmentation.
