Abbey Bominable is a 2022-introduced and all-around character. She is a Nepalese[2] yeti and a student at Monster High.
Portrayers[]
In the English version of the 2022 cartoon, Abbey's voice is provided by Aishwarya Pillai.
In the Nickelodeon live-action movies, Abbey's actress is Nasiv Sall.
In her music video, Abbey's vocals are provided by Suvi.[3]
Character[]
Background[]
Abbey and her mother had been living hidden in the Mount Neverest in the monster world for many years, sheltering themselves from the rest of the world.
Personality[]
Abbey is charismatic, friendly, and according to herself, very clumsy. Growing up, Abbey had been living hidden in Mount Neverest, due to her mother's protective nature, which left her feeling isolated. She only had her pet, Shiver, and her mother by her side, yearning for connection and friendship. Abbey has also shown to be determined to fulfill her dreams and fight for them as she disobeyed her mother’s wishes and planned on going to Monster High to convince the monsters there that she can control her powers, so they would allow her to study there. With her kind personality, Abbey managed to make true friends, which made her mother realize how wrong she was, and let her daughter go to Monster High. Now, she feels right at home and treasures her moments with new friends at Monster High.
Appearance[]
Abbey is a curvy, pear-shaped, sparkling-blue-skinned teenage yeti with long wavy, white hip-length hair with blue, purple and magenta streaks. Her hair is also partially styled into horn-shaped buns on top (possibly covering her actual horns) with turquoise and purple hair clips with snowflakes which serves as her accessories.
Her eyebrows are colored indigo, her nose has a magenta tint, and she has brown eyes with long thick eyelashes protruding from them. Her makeup consists of magenta eyeshadow, along with both dark purple lipstick and dark purple nail polish, painted on both her sharp claws and toenails. She is shown to be taller than most of the other teenagers, being only shorter than Manny.
Her attire features a set of ice-like blue visor glasses and matching icicle-shaped earrings. She wears a short-sleeved white and dark purple ringer crop-top with a graphic of a dark purple-outlined snowflake with a gradient of pink, white and cyan blue, worn over a cropped dark purple sweater with fur trim on the sleeves' edges. She also wore a set lilac baggy pants with a darker-colored gradient and pale blue snowflakes printed all over it, and large sparkling-dark purple and cyan-blue platform sandals with a dripping (or icicle) pattern.
Abilities[]
Being a yeti, Abbey's powers are relative to ice and cold temperatures. She uses them in many different ways:
- Cryokinesis: She can create and manipulate ice and frost.
- Ice Building: She can build anything, from ice bridges to holographic-looking ice walls.
- Icy projection: She can project icy blue holograms with her cryokinesis.
- Weather modification: Her powers are tied to her emotions, which can lead to her to losing control of her powers and snow on everything near her.
- Superhuman Strength: Abbey is muscular enough to lift one student at a time and carry heavy material with ease.
- Athleticism: Similar to Manny and Kuma, Abbey appears to be athletic, and her strong prowess may come in handy in some sports.
Skillset[]
- Snowboarding: Abbey is a talented snowboarder, as seen in her music video "Feel the Energy".
Relationships[]
Family[]
Abbey's only family is her mother, Tundra Bominable, who calls her "snow angel". Abbey and her mother lived hidden away from the world for many years, until Abbey decided to prove to her that she can control her powers. This led to the two to fight and Abbey left home. After this, Ms. Bominable attacked Headmistress Bloodgood at Monster High, believing she was keeping Abbey there. Then, Abbey appeared and stood up to her mother, who was relieved to see she was okay, but grabbed her to take her back home. After talking with Abbey and the Boo Crew, Ms. Bominable saw how wrong she was about the world and allowed her daughter to study at Monster High, restoring their relationship.

Romance[]
When Abbey was first introduced in "Nightmare Nightmore", Heath developed a crush on her the moment he saw her face. When Heath offered Abbey some water, he called her "pretty", but was quick to correct himself. When the Boo Crew was heading towards a cliff in the ghoul mobile, Abbey had an idea about getting across by creating an ice bridge, but was unsure she could it. When her friends encouraged her, Heath told her how skillful, charismatic and beautiful she is, which gave Abbey the confidence she needed to successfully create the ice bridge. When Heath and the others try to convince Tundra to let Abbey attend Monster High, he tells Abbey that he wishes they met sooner, to which Abbey reacts by looking at him lovingly, indicating she might return his feelings. Near the end of the episode, Heath and Abbey are together under the 'missing toes' (which in tradition, means they're supposed to kiss) and Heath shyly pouts to kiss her, but Abbey was too excited about being in Monster High she accidentally buries everyone, including him, in snow.
In the music video "Feel the Energy", as Abbey was singing, she and Heath walked towards each other and touched hands, creating steam that formed into a heart.
In “Scareer Day”, Heath accompanied Abbey during Tundra's scareer day presentation and the two worked together to save the school from slumber pixies. Later on, when Heath checks on up on her, she thanks him for caring, and when Hades embarrasses Heath by telling her he used to set his boogers on fire as a child, Abbey giggles and admits that she used to pick her boogers just to freeze them.
In "Monster Match", Heath asks Abbey in an extravagant way to be his date to the Monster Ball, which she joyfully accepts and hugs him.
In the "Monster Ball Homecoming" webseries, Heath makes a song dedicated to Abbey that he wanted to play at the Monster Ball, titled "Abbey You're So Cool!". The song was later used by Deuce's snakes to mind control people with earworms.
In “Mummy in the Mirror”, the two are stated to have gone on at least one date, which Heath was late to because he was playing a video game. He then lied and said he was late because his Grandfire was visiting. When Abbey found out the truth, she dropped a giant snowball onto Heath, but didn’t seem too mad about it, as she smirked after doing so.
In, “So Chill”, Abbey calls Heath to help her unfreeze a frozen Clawdeen and Draculaura by using his pyrokinesis. However Heath refuses, stating that while he would do anything to help Abbey, he didn’t want to hurt Clawdeen and Draculaura with his powers. Abbey then panics and loses control of her powers, causing her to accidentally freeze Heath, which she feels guilty about.
