The Monster High ghouls are back and more spooktacular than ever in this all-new, original middle grade series set in the world of Nickelodeon’s animated show and written by Adrianna Cuevas!
As Monster High prepares for its annual talent show, Frankie Stein is left wondering what they could perform. When Torelei Stripe mocks Frankie’s music playing abilities, Frankie is left even more confused about which of their brain parts is exciting enough for the talent show.
Luckily, Headmistress Bloodgood presents Frankie with new information about their brain that might hold the answer. Except Frankie discovers that their brain part is from a disgraced scientist accused of unethical experiments. Plagued by dreams from the scientist’s life, Frankie teams up with Draculaura and Clawdeen to discover the truth about their past—and save Monster High in the process.[1]

Trivia[]
- Its first listing online was on February 11, through Abrams Books, where the book was put up for pre-order. It is set to release on Halloween in 2023. On July 19th of 2023, the book cover was included in the listing of Amazon Candida.
- The premise of focusing on Monster High's talent show was previously explored in the "Sparks & Spells: A Monster High Musical" YouTube webseries, suggesting it and the books are intended to be two separate canons.
- The book's cover features the following characters:
- Clawdeen Wolf
- Frankie Stein
- Draculaura
- Toralei Stripe
- Clawd Wolf (does not appear and is not mentioned in the book)
- A pink-haired werebeast with round ears (presumably Mouscedes King) (does not appear and is not mentioned in the book)
- A black-and-white-haired werecat (presumably either Meowlody or Purrsephone)
- Deuce Gorgon
- Lagoona Blue
- The book was likely written during the early production phase of the series, before episodes were finalized and produced. As such, the book contains minor differences from the show in its continuity and character behavior. Although it makes references to the events of some episodes, the timeline of events differs enough to suggest that it takes place in a similar, but separate, continuity.
- Frankie is said to have been created and immediately enrolled at Monster High "just weeks ago", and is less than one month old during the events of the story. Their first day was in the show's series premiere.
- Cleo had gone to Clawdeen's house in the human world prior to the events of the story, which happened in "Werewolf Weekend" (episode 9).
- Gil Webber is enrolled at Monster High and Lagoona has a crush on him. Gil first arrived at Monster High in "Monster Movie" (episode 22), and Lagoona first met him in "A Little Boost" (episode 40).
- Toralei is still antagonistic towards the other students, which she stopped being in "Power Heist" (episode 31).
